What’s to come: Game plan for this week, April 28th
Morning! Hope all is well!
Well you probably know by now that I started a Sunday blog called “Game plan for this week” that will contain a quick discussion and what I plan on doing with myriadofideas.com for the week. Novel idea. 🙂 For some reason I feel the need to “grease the skids” with my audience. A flavor of what is to come. I guess that’s a good thing.
I’m looking to make things better and grow the site, so this week I did four things:
- Last Saturday, I ordered a book through Amazon.com called SEO for WordPress by Kent Mauresmo (@read2learn_blog). GREAT BOOK! It’s not just a book, it’s a vital resource for learning how to optimize your WordPress site for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I’m a newbie to this whole thing called Search Engine Optimization, whereas you build out keywords and phrases for your website to be “picked up” by the major search engines (ie Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc). So you will be seeing some, minor changes on myriadofideas.com. So far I have been using Facebook, Twitter, and MailChimp to spread the word on my website. Now the plan is optimize the site, so people who aren’t “socially connected to me” can find the site via searching on topics that I cover. We’ll see, I’m pretty optimistic. Not to ramble here. I figured it’s not “rocket science”, so I dove in like I did with my first podcast. Only way to learn to swim is to jump in!
- Dan Meyer and I agreed to do a every other week “Technology and Around Town” podcast. We have what I think is some good traction. Let’s run with it!
- I purchased Blubrry ProfessionalMedia Statistics. This doesn’t really mean anything for you, other than now I will know how many people are listening to the podcasts. Don’t worry, it doesn’t give me WHO you are by name. Just State, the tool you use to listen to the podcast (iPad/Android/Desktop), etc. Click on the link to find out more. This gives me a sense on how successful we are. Why I’m interested? Because I’ve come to the conclusion that asking people to fill out surveys is archaic. People don’t have the time, they just want to click on “LIKE” or whatever the button is on the Social Media they use.
- I’ve focused on Twitter through Following the blog and content pros world-wide. Figured, why not join the community. Better to surround yourself with the pros than to try to figure it out by yourself!
Plan for the week:
I have two podcasts set up, both with High School Classmates to talk about what they have been doing for the past 20 years. The first of the two is scheduled for today. The other is TBD. There is a really good possibility that I will have a third podcast with my Aunt around genealogy. We will see.
I plan on writing one blog per week, this week’s blog will be around a tourist outing we took in Phoenix. Stay tuned.
Thank you for you time! Please do Like, Share, and/or Retweet this on my behalf (I appreciate it)!
