Have you ever attended one of my Family’s Birthday parties?

I asked my Mom if I can share a few of our families recipes.  This is one of them.

Some of you over the years have had this on our birthday cakes.  I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about, now you can make it yourself!

My Great Grandma Jane’s Frosting (taken from my Mom’s recipe book).

    • 1 Cup of Milk
    • 5 Tbsp. Flour

Slowly add flour to milk until completely dissolved over medium flame.

Let mixture come to a boil and continue to stir until like a thick mass.  Put in refrigerator to cool.

    Now prepare the following:

    • 2 sticks of Butter
    • 1 Cup of Sugar
    • 1 tsp. of Vanilla
    • any food coloring desired

Cream together (using mixer), then add flour mixture after cooled.  Continue to mix.  Give beaters to your children to lick.  They’ll love them!

This has been loved by every child at our birthday parties for years.  Great, great frosting.
